Google has rolled out a new feature that will let a desktop and smartphone communicate by sending basic information in the form of notes or reminders from the browser to the phone.

To enable the feature Google has provided step by step instructions on its support page. By typing or voicing simple instructions like "send directions to my phone" or "send a note to my phone" in Google's search bar the user can leave notifications on the phone. This will be a seamless process without the need to activate any kind of Bluetooth or wired connection between the devices.

Apart from sending information the user can send directions from Google Maps on the desktop to the application counterpart on the phone. The user can also set alarms and even spot the android device it is connected to by, simply typing the instruction in the search bar.

Google is constantly trying to evolve as a connected system, without the need to manually transfer data between different Google-ecosystems. With Apple's 'hand-off' feature in Yosemite and Microsoft's 'Continuum' feature on Windows 10 in place, Google is trying to create its own syncing system which is will prove to be far more functional, considering the huge user base of Android operating systems.
