MYSURU: Now, you can reach Mysuru city police via Twitter at #MysuruCityPolice.
Police extended this facility to the public following the success of its initiative on Facebook. Its page has been visited by 3.5 lakh visitors and followed by 10,642 persons."As we're able to connect with the public through social networking sites, we now have a Twitter handle," outgoing police commissioner MA Saleem said on Sunday while announcing the launch.

Saleem, the 1993 batch IPS officer who may hand over charge on Monday following his transfer last week, asked people to be engaged with cops by tweeting and extending advice, suggestions and information. Saleem had created the Facebook page to reach out to people.
He also introduced an interactive voice recording system (IVRS) through which people can call the designated telephone number and register complaints. People can call 0821-2418473 and complain about law and order and crime-related issues and traffic problems. The complaint will be routed to the police station concerned. The call will be disconnected after 60 seconds and cops have asked people to be precise in their complaints. Once the complaint is made, the caller needn't approach the police station and register ít, he said.
There's also an sms complaint service, which is restricted to complaints about autorickshaws. People can send complaints like refusal of service or demanding/ collecting extra charges by drivers. They can send the sms to 9480802200.
IGP B Dayanand, the new Mysuru police commissioner, may take charge on Monday. He indicated to Mysuru city police that he will hand over charge on Monday and reach Mysuru in the afternoon to take over from MA Saleem who will succeed Dayanand as additional commissioner (traffic) in Bengaluru.
