Kishtwar, Apr 26: In order to take on the spot review of damages due to large scale land slides during the recent heavy rains,Minister of State for R&B and Revenue Sunil Sharma today visited the remote areas of Galhar Nagseni.
Mr Sharma went up to the sliding area of Lolna village of Galhar and took stock of the restoration works and clearance operations. The local populace of the area apprised the Minister about the problems being faced by them and imminent danger to life and property due to frequent slides.
The Minister directed the officers of R&B to expedite the clearance operations.He asked the ADDC and Tehsildar to assess the damages to the property.He said that new road projects under PMGSY are in offing and Union Govt has provided adequate funds for the same.
He said that recent rains and snowfall have caused huge damages to the roads and at the same time posed great danger to life and property in the adjecent areas. The Batote Kishtwar Highway has been handed over to National Highway Development Corporation and their team in coordination of R&B is going to survey all the track.
He assured the villagers of Lolna that immediate steps of restoration and rehabitation will be taken up.
ADDC Kishtwar A S Chib, Tehsildar Nagseni Anuradha Thakur and BDO Nagseni besides the officers of R&B and other deptts were present on the occasion.
