NDFB-Songbijit militant B Matang alias Martin Basumatary, allegedly involved in the adivasi massacre on December 23 last, was arrested in a joint operation by 12 Assam Rifle and Assam Police on Sunday. Ex-TMC MLA arrested

Expelled Trinamool Congress strongman and former MLA Arabul Islam was arrested on Sunday from the New Town area, the emerging satellite township near Kolkata, for his alleged involvement in an extortion case, the police said. Bombs found near temple

Five suspected pipe bombs were found packed in gunny bags in a pond of the famed Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple here, police said on Sunday.
