Sajjad takes stock of problems in Handwara

SRINAGAR: Minister for Animal Husbandry and Science and Technology Sajjad Gani Lone today made an extensive tour of several villages of the Handwara constituency in north Kashmir.

Minister for Animal Husbandry and Science and Technology Sajjad Gani Lone today made an extensive tour of several villages of the Handwara constituency in north Kashmir.

Lone visited Waderpayeen, Behnipora, Zachaldara, Wadipora and other villages of the Handwara seat and took stock of people’s problems and development needs.

The minister said all-round development of rural and hilly areas was the priority of the government which had set into motion a golden era of development. He said the coming years would be a turnaround in the socio-economic transformation of the state.

He said every possible resource was being mobilised and pooled to provide basic facilities to the people with focus on equitable opportunities of development and uniform justice to the poor and in backward areas.

He said the government was aware of the problems of the people and no stone would be left unturned to redress their grievances.

The minister said the people linked their hopes with public representatives and asked panches and sarpanches to work sincerely for the welfare and development of the people.

Lone reviewed the restoration of essential services like road communication, power and water supply, availability of edible items, fuel and healthcare facilities and emergency services affected due to floods. He sought the appraisal of officials concerned about the status of action taken.
