The movie ‘Case No 18/9’ where Kannada actor Niranjan Shetty essayed the role of a village lad who comes to the City in search of a job but lands in many controversies, won plaudits for his 'raw' performance.

Niranjan is buoyed by the fallout. He has some interesting projects in hand and believes that his ability to mould into just about any role will come in handy now.
“I have been getting a lot of offers but I want to work on selected projects in a
year. A lot of people may wonder why I am not seen as often as an actor should be on screen but I have my own reasons for it,” says Niranjan, who recently celebrated
his birthday which the actor confides gave him the occasion to share quality time with his family, fans and a bunch of his friends.

Niranjan is currently working in ‘Rajaru’ which is a thriller where he plays the role of a man who fights against the injustices he sees around him.

He volunteers to solve problems that don’t directly concern him. “His voluntary nature to help lands him in a lot of trouble but the young man is determined to fight even if he has to go it alone. Story unfolds only towards the end.”

The next project is titled, ‘Adhyaya’, meaning chapter,  revolves around a young boy who loses his parents as a child. He is adopted by an underworld don, “The child too takes up after the man who brings him up. It’s a typical commercial ‘masala’ film,” he says. Talking about his character, Niranjan says, “I am glad to have got such a  strong role and looks like all my hard work has paid off. The subject is excellent and the storyline is sure to get a lot of people thinking.”

Niranjan is concentrating on working on performance-oriented characters rather than just pick up anything that comes his way.

“I would like to dip my fingers into as many roles as possible and explore the actor in me. I don’t want to get predictable and monotonous with my work,” he signs off.
