Woman crushed to death in road accident

A 27-year-old woman, riding pillion on a two-wheeler, was killed on-the-spot after a tractor hit the two-wheeler in Tumakuru Rural police station limits on Sunday.

The police have identified the deceased as Mangalamma of Manne in Nelamangala under Bengaluru Rural district.

Mangalamma and her husband, Ramesh were returning to Manne when the sand-laden tractor suddenly turned towards the right while Ramesh was overtaking the tractor at around 10.45 a.m. on Sunday.

Mangalamma fell and was crushed under the wheels of the tractor.

The tractor driver is absconding and the police are on the lookout for the driver.

A case has been registered in Tumakuru Rural police station.
