Nepalese TV personality Sujan Shakya, who appears on a Korean program featuring non-Korean men living in Korea, has asked viewers to pray for his country after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed at least 2 thousand people on Saturday.
The toll is expected to grow.
Shakya, who appears on channel JTBC's "Non-Summit"program, took to his Twitter account with a Korean poem titled, "The tears of the Himalayas," asking Koreans to pray for the safety of his friends and family in Kathmandu. The poem reads:
"I can hear your trembling voice and feel the urgency to talk to you on the phone. A snow-covered mountain fell down, and my heart attempts to swallow my streaming tears."
He also posted a picture titled "Pray for Nepal" on his Instagram account, adding that he had spoken with his family, who were safe.
"I am worried about the aftershocks that may follow, but I hope everyone joins me in prayer for everyone in the disaster," Shakya wrote.
