MUMBAI: We might see
Ravi Shastri pad up for another new innings soon. Last year, the former India all-rounder took a break from his commentary stint to be the director of the Indian cricket team till the World Cup.
While it is still not clear if he would continue in that position, TOI has learnt that the charismatic 52-year-old might be involved with Mumbai cricket in a big way in the near future.
"He approached me and expressed his interest in contributing to Mumbai cricket during the recent IPL Governing Council meeting in Delhi. I welcomed his suggestion. We are looking for a big role for him. His role will be decided in the Managing Committee meeting of the
Mumbai Cricket Association,"
MCA joint secretary PV Shetty told TOI on Saturday.
While Shetty did not confirm it, according to sources, Shastri is likely to be appointed as an advisor/consultant to the MCA.
