April 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Under Operation Milap, an ongoing Delhi Police initiative that aims at safely restoring missing children with their families here, five kids were reunited with their families.

Among them are two Bihar-based brothers – aged 12 and 14 years – who got separated at the New Delhi Railway Station earlier this month. The others are a 15-year-old, a 14-year-old and an 11-year-old.

According to Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (crime), 70 children have been restored to their families so far.

“The Crime Branch has succeeded in restoring five more children staying in various children homes in Delhi to their families under Operation Milap. The drive consists of checking children homes, matching their details with existing records pertaining to missing children and tracing their next of kin.”

Mr. Yadav said three of the five children in question were found lodged at the Salaam Balak Trust located at Tis Hazari, North Delhi. The brothers, hailing from Katihar in Bihar, were rescued by officials of the said trust on April 20 and 15, respectively. — Staff Reporter
