The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday alleged that the recent attack on the party office was an organised act and said that the attack was instigated by senior Congress leaders.
Speaking to reporters, BJP Puducherry unit president M. Visweswaran said that it was a planned attack by Congress workers through a meeting they had at the residence of former Union Minister for State V. Narayanasamy.
Hence, Mr. Narayanasamy should also be booked for instigating the attack.
Mr. Visweswaran said that the sale of banned lottery tickets was rampant in the city. Though police were aware of it no action had been taken.
The police should be pro-active in enforcing the ban. Incidents of burglaries have been on the rise and police should maintain vigil.
The Chief Minister N. Rangasamy should immediately intervene and appoint over 700 police personnel attached with the India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) for maintenance of Law and Order.
When asked whether Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley would be contesting the lone Rajya Sabha seat, he replied that the BJP was a national party and it had every right to contest the election.
