2,904 benefit from passport mela

The passport mela conducted on Saturday by the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Bengaluru benefitted 2,904 applicants across Karnataka.

The melas were conducted at passport seva kendras (PSKs) in Bengaluru and Hubballi.

A release said that the RPO, Bengaluru has conducted five melas this year, including the one on Saturday, benefitting more than 22,600 applicants. With the doubling of slots, waiting time for normal appointments has been brought down to one calendar day against 40 to 50 days earlier. Tatkal appointments continue to be available the next working day at the four PSKs in the State, the release said .
