Amit Shah, Vasundhara Raje visit kin of farmer who hung self at AAP rally

Gajendra’s father, Bane Singh, had written to Raje seeking a CBI inquiry into the death and claimed that the handwriting on the alleged suicide note did not match Gajendra’s writing. The family brought up the demand yet again when Raje met them in person on Saturday afternoon.

Even as political parties scrambled to the village offering condolences and compensation cheques to the family over the past three days, Raje had kept her distance, as she learnt that Gajendra was not a ‘farmer in distress’.

However sources in the party said that it was on Shah’s insistence that Raje visited the family along with the BJP chief.

During the meeting Raje is said to have told the family that they could approach her once all the last rites and the mourning period is over.

Vijendra Singh, Gajendra’s younger brother said, “The CM has assured us all possible help and asked us to get in touch with her once all the rituals are over. We do not want any politics over my brother’s death. We are only seeking a judicial inquiry into the case. We want to know what led him to take this drastic step.”
