Marathi actress, Gayatri Deshmukh who will be seen next in a Marathi film 'Partu' is happy the way her career is shaping and but recalls the phase when she was offered only negative roles.
Though she is enjoying her acting stint, she shared how tough were her initial days when she was down rightly rejected for the lead roles at the auditions. She said, "Though I would audition for positive lead heroine, I was never selected for the same.
There was a phase when people told me that my face is best suited for the negative roles and I was never considered for a main lead. Also, my husky voice was considered a negative quality. Slowly things changed for and I waited for the right opportunity and so I have accepted a negative character. I'm happy with the kind of work I'm doing. "
All of 28, this young lady is portraying a role of mother in the ongoing Marathi television show, 'Ase He Kanyadaan'. "I was reluctant to take up this character as my major concern was to not get typecast as I have just begin the career and I'm too young to play a mother of a 25-year-old girl. Eventually, I gave a nod to the show and now I' getting rave reviews too," she said.
Talking about her debut on big screen, actress said that her upcoming film 'Partu' directed by Nitin Adsul will a huge turning point in her career. "This film is based on a real incident of a young kid hailing from Rajasthan who went missing. I'm playing the character of his wife. This is my first film as a lead so I hope it does well."
