3 children drown at Collem in south Goa

Two boys, aged 6 years and 12 years and a girl aged 14 years drowned in river at Collem, Sanguem in south Goa on Saturday.

The children originally from Mumbai, had been staying at their Aunt’s place at Collem, police said.

The names of the children were given as Mahesh Basavraj Khandagoli(6), Mehak Basavraj Khandagoli(12) and Hritik Shivappa Nalikar(14).

The children drowned when they were playing in water while some of their family members were washing clothes.

Bodies will be given to the family after postmortem scheduled for Sunday, the police said.
