Cops rushing to crime scene crash into delivery man

Two NYPD cops rushing to a crime scene swerved to avoid a van and plowed right into a Chinese delivery man’s motorbike on Friday — sending him and his food flying into the air, witnesses said.

The accident took place around noon, near the 72nd Precinct station house in Sunset Park.

The officers were driving along Fourth Avenue when the delivery man turned from 32nd Street.

“The Chinese guy 100 percent had a green light,” Francisco Taveras, manager of Sunslope Car Wash, told The Post. “The policeman I’m pretty sure didn’t see him. He just banged this Chinese guy. The guy flew into the air, his shoes came off. The food went everywhere.”

The delivery man tried to get up.

“He was conscious, trying to stand up, but couldn’t,” Taveras said. “He just collapsed. He was bleeding from his nose and mouth.”

The officers, who were in an unmarked black car with lights flashing, got out and tried to help the man, who was placed on a stretcher and taken away by ambulance. He is in stable condition.

“The cop seemed really nervous,” Taveras said. “I feel sorry for him. He was doing his job.”
