What efforts did you make, BJP asks CM

April 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Stating that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘conditional’ apology over the suicide of a farmer has exposed his ‘horrifying’ face, the BJP leaders sought explanation from Mr. Kejriwal about the efforts he made as an individual to save the farmer who hanged himself in his presence.

“Mr. Chief Minister, you speak of engaging people in dialogue on every issue. Will you tell people what effort did you make as an individual to save the farmer, did you engage him in any dialogue?” Mr. Upadhayay asked.

Mr. Upadhyay alleged that it was Kejriwal’s nature to first do things in his own way and later when things go disarray, he apologises feigning innocence.

The BJP leadership also slammed the Chief Minister for stating that TV channels were reporting regularly on the farmer’s suicide for TRP.

Bedi slams Kejriwal

Former IPS and chief ministerial candidate of the BJP, Kiran Bedi slammed Kejriwal stating that the latter’s apology amounts to saying that he still holds a ‘learner’s license’.

“Clearly the apology offered by Kejriwal after 3 days is not probably due to empathy, or sobbing of Ashutosh. Ppl of Delhi demand of their CM to administer & not be a mere agitationist. B a law abider, not a violator. These r result of public outrage (Sic),” she tweeted further.
