Daksha (Kannada)
Director: S. Narayan
Cast: Duniya Vijay, Pankaj, Neha Patil, Suchindra Prasad, Rangayana Raghu, Shobharaj, Bullet Prakash, Uday, Padmaja Rao
Expectations of the audience are high when S. Narayan makes a film. Similarly, Daksha raised curiosity because Narayan teamed up with Duniya Vijay after six years to bring out an action thriller. Fans of Duniya Vijay waited for long for the movie, which was shot last April and got a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for being shot in a 142 minute-single take.
However, Narayan and Duniya Vijay disappoint the audience with a week story, screenplay and poor editing. A little effort could have made the film authentic, as terrorists look like local goons in their attire and body language.
The story has nothing new to offer. A terrorist takes control of the bungalow of a judge who is to deliver judgement in a terror attack case. An army commando saves the judge and his family.
Duniya Vijay is restricted to mouth patriotic dialogues. Pankaj performs better. Shobharaj as the terrorist leader and Suchendra Prasad as the judge do justice to their roles. Rangayana Raghu and Bullet Prakash help in breaking the monotony of narration. Two songs are forced into the film. Action scenes are limited to gun shots and a few acrobatics by Duniya Vijay.
