Ramanujacharya’s birth anniversary celebrated

Several temples such as Srikurmam, Sri Kodandarama Alayam, Venkateswara Swamy temple in PN Colony and others wore festive look with the celebration of Sri Ramanujacharya’s 999th birth anniversary.

Endowments department has extended its support for the celebrations as he visited Srikurmam temple which has been a major centre for spreading Vaishnava culture. Spiritual speaker Sanapala Narayana Murthy said that Sri Ramanujacharya’s philosophy was still relevant to the society as he taught the importance of nature and paramatma.

“Sri Ramanujacharya played key role in creating awareness about Visistadvita by visiting all major temples in the country. He lived for 127 years and paved strong way for the protection of Hindu culture in the society,” he added.
