Pippa O'Connor walked away with the top gong at the VIP Style Awards.

The blonde beauty's win completed her transition from a photocall model turned a lifestyle guru, and a fashion force to be reckoned with.

RTE presenter Marty Morrissey stole the Most Stylish Man award, while reigning Rose of Tralee flew over to Ireland from Philadelphia especially to collect her 'Most Stylish Newcomer' plaque.

Non-nominees also turned heads at the show with RTE star Jean Byrne turning heads in a full length white leather gown, describing it as 'avant garde'. "I wanted to do something different and eye-catching," she said.

Panto star Twink brought her daughters Naomi and Chloe Agnew as her equally stylish dates.

Xpose presenter Lisa Cannon's tulle Vera Wang dress similarly made a splash as she worked her second home - the red carpet.

Anne Doyle stunned in a blush pink skirt she's 'had for ages' and a top from 'Dunnes finest' in her typically self-deprecating style. Her other half Dan McGrattan insisted they come, saying: "I don't usually come to these things, but Dan insisted. His jaw hits the floor."

It's not just a night for high heels and hairspray as the Most Stylish Man nominees lined up to compete withl last year's winner Conor McGregor's shoes.

And it was Mrs Brown's Boy's Rory Cowan who won the gong.

Broadcaster Lottie Ryan opted for a gothic Umit Kutluk feathered design, while her sister Bonnie opted for a dramatic number from H&M's new Conscious Collection.

Also sporting high street numbers were Caroline Morahan in a coral Littlewoods Ireland dress, (she proudly boasted about its €100 price tag), while Lucy Kennedy also wore a navy gown from the online retailer.

Last year's big winner Rosanna Davison was the literal lady in red, wearing a red lace Jovani dress from Cari's Closet and accessorising with her husband Wesley Quirke in a rare red carpet appearance.

Most Stylish Woman nominee Pippa O'Connor wore a pink lace alice + olivia dress with a plunging neckline, bringing her best friend Brian Dowling as her date.

The former Big Brother star proudly boasted of his incredible 30 pound weight loss.

Fair City actress Aoibhin Garrihy went for a slicked back hairstyle and dating Sean Byrne gown. Love/Hate actress Aoibhinn McGinnity wore a jumpsuit by Marion Murphy Cooney.

Models Roz Purcell and Daniella Moyles oozed sex appeal in Scribe by Roz suit jackets and little else. Both opted for sleek straight hair.

Ireland's glitterati begun descending on the five star Marker Hotel for the most glamorous evening on the Dublin social calendar shortlay after 6pm.

And not only is it a night for fashion face-offs, but a chance for Irish designers to showcase some of their best looks on the red carpet, including Umit Kutluk, Lennon Courtney and Sean Byrne.

New mum Karen Koster even returned to her Xpose presenting duties for one night only.

Battling it out for the Most Stylish Newcomer gong is former Miss Ireland Aoife Walsh, model Jo Archbold and up and coming designer Emma Manley, who stunned in one of her own designs.

One of the newer categories, Look of the Year will see fashionistas Lisa Fitzpatrick, Lorraine Keane and model Sarah Morrissey, among others, vying for a coveted gong.

The night only begins when the ceremony wraps however as the after party celebrations will take place at Harcourt Street venue Copper Face Jack's for the second year in a row.
