Greg Kinnear has left his longtime agency CAA for WME, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. He had been with CAA since his career took off with As Good as It Gets 18 years ago.
Last year the actor starred in the Christian drama Heaven Is for Real, which grossed more than $91 million domestically on the strength of the faith-based audience. He’s following that up with another inspirational film, Paramount’s Same Kind of Different as Me, based on another nonfiction book by Heaven Is for Real author Lynn Vincent. Djimon Hounsou and Renee Zellweger also star.
Kinnear began his career in 1991 as the Daytime Emmy-winning original host of E!’s Talk Soup, then segued to the movies with 1995’s Sabrina remake and, two years later, his Oscar-nominated performance in As Good as It Gets (which also garnered Golden Globe and SAG nominations as well as an award from the National Board of Review).
Since then, his film credits have included You’ve Got Mail, Mystery Men, We Were Soldiers and Little Miss Sunshine, for which he shared a SAG Award with the cast. Kinnear also received Primetime Emmy nominations for his portrayal of John F. Kennedy in Reelz’s miniseries The Kennedys and for a guest-starring appearance in Modern Family in 2012.
Kinnear continues to be repped by Stone Meyer.
