Get ready for some drama this weekend – a pinch of patriotism with the taste of women empowerment and lots of entertainment.
Get ready for some drama this weekend – a pinch of patriotism with the taste of women empowerment and lots of entertainment. Wo Lahore and Draupadi, two blockbuster plays by playwright and theatre director Atul Satya Koushik, will be staged at the Shri Ram Centre on April 25 and 26, respectively.
While Wo Lahore shows the internal conflicts prevailing in an ordinary Indian family with the struggle for freedom, social beliefs of those times and Partition in the backdrop, Draupadi’s is special in its all-woman cast who sing and dance as they reflect the plight of a woman.

Both the plays, produced by Koushik’s group The Films and Theatre Society, have brought heaps of praise from cities like Mumbai, Chandigarh, Shimla, Jaipur and Lucknow.
“We don’t want to preach. That’s why we picked two of our socially relevant plays from a set of 11,” says Rahul Bhuchar, executive directorof The Films and Theatre Society.
