Katy Perry may be starting a new trend — or making a horrible fashion mistake — with her latest outfit.
While walking the streets in Tokyo on Friday, the 30-year-old pop star was spotted wearing a furry blue surgical-style face mask.
Perry, who is bringing her Prismatic World Tour to the Japanese city, wore a blue pleated skirt, a white button-up shirt with a cat’s mouth as a pocket and a red button pinned to the collar with the word “Hi” written on it.
She completed her schoolgirl-style outfit with black-and-white loafers, braided pigtails, a striped head wrap and a quilted red Chanel purse.
Although it’s unknown if she’s sick, trying to hide or thinks her mask is a cute accessory, she’s sure to raise eyebrows.
Perry was recently slammed by “Hunger Games” star Amandla Stenberg for cultural misappropriation — the act of participating in a cultural style without being aware of the deep significance of the culture.
After landing Thursday, Perry was spotted wearing a similar mask, but in black.
After two shows in Tokyo, Perry will head to Taiwan.
