Two labourers crushed under water tank

Two labourers working at the construction site of new bridge being built across Narmada River died after being crushed under a water tank on Thursday morning.

SURAT: Two labourers working at the construction site of new bridge being built across Narmada River died after being crushed under a water tank on Thursday morning. Another labourer was injured in the incident. Ankleshwar police has registered case of accidental death.
According to police, a temporary labour colony has been set up by the contractor Larsen and Toubro (L&T) near Mulad crossroad on National Highway 8 near Ankleshwar.
Over 40 labourers reside there. For these labourers, a 15,000 litre water tank was erected four days ago.
On Thursday morning, three labourers were having bath when the water tank collapsed crushing the labourers under it. One of them Ramu Rajbhar, 35, died on the spot whereas Dhiraj Paswan (31) died in hospital.
The injured labourer Krishna was taken to a private hospital in Ankleshwar where he is receiving treatment.
M K Swami, police inspector of Ankelshwar said, "We have registered case of accidental death and have called in forensic science experts. Once they gives the report further action would be taken."
