KCR re-elected TRS chief unopposed

Party electoral Returning Officer Nayini Narsimha Reddy, who is also the Home Minister, announced Mr. Rao's election amidst bursting of crackers.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who is also the president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), was formally elected as the party chief again on Friday at the party's plenary that began here on Friday.

Party electoral Returning Officer Nayini Narsimha Reddy, who is also the Home Minister, announced Mr. Rao's election amidst bursting of crackers. He stated that five sets of nomination papers were received for party chief's post, all on behalf of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao to make his election unanimous again.

In his welcome address, party MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said the party was like a bridge between the Government and people. Secretary General of the party K. Keshava Rao said that if achievement of Telangana was historic, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao leading the State as Chief Minister was even more historic as it was a historic necessity.
