Events galore at Sushila Birla School

Sushila Birla Girls School celebrated their annual report and prize distribution ceremony on April 10, 2015 at the Centre for Performing Arts.

What started with the song “This little Guiding light of mine, I am gonna let it shine” , ended with a play. The audience were informed that the academic year was very successful for the school. The pass percentage in the board exams was 99.4.

As an exchange program twelve students and two teachers of Kunming No. 8 High School from China, visited Sushila Birla Girls School. This program was designed to help students understand, appreciate the education systems of the two countries, lifestyles and culture.

School organized a workshop by Prof. Sugata Mitra, TED prize winner, who took teachers and students of Sushila Birla Girls' School by surprise by propagating his 'School in the Clouds' programme. The highlight of the workshop was SOLE - Self Organized Learning Environment, where the role of the teacher underwent a transformation and the teacher became the moderator or facilitator of the learning experience.

The program ended with the prize distribution ceremony of Middle & Senior level school. Along with academic awards, the school awarded perfect attendance, good conduct & scholar badges for students . The outstanding students - Namrata Dutta, Saloni Daga, Trisha Agarwal, Varnica Agarwal, Rajdipta Mukherjee, Nishi Vasa - bagged the “scholar badges“prize.
