Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has said that 200 tribal youth will soon be inducted into the State police by way of special recruitment.

Speaking at the valedictory function of ‘Kaananasangamom,’ a tribal festival, here on Wednesday, he said the Student Police Cadet scheme would be introduced to schools in tribal areas.

The police were particularly sensitive to complaints of tribal people.

The government was closely monitoring the spending of funds for tribal development to prevent any illegal diversion or misuse, the Minister added.
