Watch Zac Brown Band’s Fan-Sourced ‘Homegrown’ Video
Zac Brown Band have revealed the new video for their latest chart-topping hit, “Homegrown,” and it takes its title literally.
Over 1,000 fans submitted their own video clips for the project, creating a hodgepodge of home movies that showcase the joy of simple American living, just like the song glorifies.
Brown and company sifted through more than four hours of footage to end up with three-and-a-half minutes of their fans’ real lives, ending up with clip after clip of stunning country vistas and modest family homes, pets, weddings, kids and favorite pastimes.
The approach was certainly unconventional, but then again, defying convention was basically Brown’s motto in creating his fourth full-length album, the upcoming Jekyll + Hyde. He brought together an unprecedented four separate record labels to get the best team he possibly could behind the band’s newest music.
“What I’ve always loved is to try things and take chances that other people are scared to do,” he recently told Rolling Stone Country. “We’ve got a team of visionary people and people who’ve proven they can be successful in their own way, by breaking the rules of what is normal.”
The musician applied that same rule bending mentality to the album. “There will be things that people will expect and things that they don’t,” he hints.
Jekyll + Hyde is out April 28th.
