Contest honors creativity, innovation among young female students

KUWAIT, April 23 (KUNA) -- The Sheikha Fadia Al-Saad Al-Sabah contest for creativity and innovation for girls is to be launched tomorrow with prizes assigned for scientific and technical achievements for middle and high school female students, a consultant to the contest said on Thursday.
The contest seeks to encourage young female students to pursue scientific research and innovation by creating viable and workable projects with commendable results, said consultant Raghad Al-Mutbaqani, in remarks to KUNA.
The contest is open for Kuwaiti and Gulf students, she said, noting that already 15 scientific projects prepared by 15 teams of female students have been selected for competition for final prizes, she said.
A panel of judges from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE will select the best three projects for first, second, and third place awards, she said. Results of the judges will be announced on Saturday. (end) zak.ajs
