Cushman & Wakefield on April 15 secured premium retail space for KFC and Nike on the exclusive Fashion Street in Budapest on behalf of the developer Immobilia Plc., Cushman & Wakefield said in a press release today.

Occupying a 560 sqm space on two floors at Deák tér, the modernly designed unit of KFC is considered an important strategic step in the chain’s plan for expansion and to further strengthen the brand in Central Europe. On that same day, renowned American sports brand Nike opened its 4th store in Budapest in a space of more than 300 sqm on Fashion Street.

Viktória Szabó Partner, Head of Retail at Cushman & Wakefield Budapest said: “Fashion Street has always been looking for a quality sportswear tenant especially because there is no other prime mono brand sports unit in the close catchment area. We also believe that KFC, right at the entrance of the Deák tér Metro station, being the most important public transportation hub in Budapest, will be a success story.”

László Balázs, CEO at Immobilia Plc. commented: “We are more than happy that both Nike and KFC chose the well performing and exclusive Fashion Street. With the best tenant mix in the area, shopping at Fashion Street has become a pleasure with KFC, Starbucks and Vapiano further enhancing the joy of shopping. We are not exaggerating when we say that the Fashion Street project has reached its long term goal.”

Cushman & Wakefield is the exclusive letting agent and property manager of the unique Fashion Street Project, a development that offers approximately 8,000 sqm of retail space and restaurants between Deák tér and Bécsi utca and which is directly linked to Budapest’s traditional high street, Váci utca and Vörösmarty tér.
