Priyanka Chopra invites Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ire over ‘lavani’ rehearsal tweet?

Rumour now has it that the director Bhansali is not happy with Priyanka disclosing such an important details about the movie on the social media.

In a report published in DNA, “A big publicity campaign was planned around the film’s climactic dance number being choreographed by Remo D’Souza and featuring the two Bajirao Mastani divas Deepika and Priyanka.Announcing it through two two tweeted lines was certainly not Mr Bhansali’s idea of breaking the film’s big story.”

It should be noted that Mumbai Mirror had earlier reported and Indian Express had quoted that Kathak maestro Birju Maharaj had denied any possibilities of a dance ‘jugalbandi’ between the two actresses and had said that it’s Deepika alone who will be performing to Kathak in the movie. Talking about the lavani number, song’s choreographer Remo D’Souza had told PTI: “Though it is essentially a lavani number, it would not be wrong to call it a mix of folk and classical dance as well. It is never easy to work with SLB as he wants nothing short of perfection. Also, with the costumes, it is never easy to choreograph or perform for the actresses. This one has two actresses so it will require absolute perfection and synchronization.”

“After 12 years, since ‘Devdas’, audiences will see two contemporary actresses dance together in the same frame. It is a lavni composed folk song and a lot of work has gone into the sets and the picturisation of the song. Both Priyanka and Deepika have worked extremely hard on the song and rehearsed long hours for it,” Bhansali also told PTI.

The song will be shot over a period of 12 days, with over 50 background dancers on a larger-than-life set. The actresses have been rehearsing for over 10 days for the song, given its challenging choreography.
