Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has ordered that none of the decisions taken by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority in the last four months are implemented and that they are reviewed.

Discussing the irregularities that recently came to light in HMDA for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, Mr. Rao deplored that officials of the authority functioned at will in preparing master plans. Layouts and constructions should be in tune with permanent master plans. He asked officials to examine altering procedures to transfer HMDA staff to suit the requirements of government.
Mr. Rao discussed the developments in HMDA with his own Principal Secretary S. Narsing Rao, the newly appointed Commissioner of the authority Shalini Misra and Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration M.G. Gopal. They took place as part of efforts to put HMDA back on rails after it was mired in corruption charges and other lapses.
A release of CMO said Mr. Rao had already ordered repatriation of staff working in HMDA on deputation to their parent departments. To this effect, the municipal administration department issued orders terminating the deputation of 80 employees. He asked officers to re-examine employment on outsourcing basis which took place indiscriminately in the authority. The outsourcing employees should be continued only on need basis.
He expressed unhappiness that conditions were not right in HMDA as it was steeped in corruption. He asked the committee comprising Mr. Gopal, Ms. Misra and Special Chief Secretary K. Pradeep Chandra to evolve measures to set things right. Steps should be taken to ensure that transactions with HMDA were conducted by public online without having to visit HMDA.
