Trader loses gold in bus

April 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A Nellore-based trader on Wednesday approached the Cyberabad police claiming to have lost gold ornaments while travelling in a private bus four days ago.

Shaik Rafeequddin (47), a native of Nellore town, came to the city early on Sunday in a bus and disembarked at Dilsukhnagar. Rafeequddin regularly comes to the city for business deals. He takes orders from local jewellery stores and supplies gold ornaments, the police said.

On Saturday evening he started from Nellore. After reaching the city, he checked into a private lodge and noticed a bag containing jewellery missing from his luggage. “Rafeequddin suspects that some persons stole the bag containing gold ornaments. He is not sure about the exact quantity of jewellery he was carrying,” DCP L. B. Nagar, Tafseer Iqbal said.

When asked about the delay in reporting the incident, the man told the police that he was waiting for a friend from Bengaluru to come and help him in making the complaint.
