Nalgonda district stood last among the ten Telangana districts in junior Intermediate results that were announced on Wednesday.

The pass percentage of the district declined from last year’s 44 per cent to 43 per cent this year, but slid down to the last position from the last year’s eight position in Telangana State.

Speaking to The Hindu , Regional Inspection Officer Intermediate Education, N. Prakashbabu said that the they were disappointed with the results since they expected better performance from the children.

“We were reviewing the results to know what could be the main reason behind the poor performance of the students, he said.

However, Mr. Prakashbabu said that they would better prepare the students for the advanced supplementary examinations to help them clear all the subjects.

Girls outshine boys

Meanwhile, the girls fared better than boys.

While the girls have 50 per cent of pass percentage, only 35 per cent of boys, who appeared in the examinations could clear.
