Rain, wind divert Newark-bound flight to Boston

A plane from Paris to Newark ended up being diverted to Boston because of the windy, wet weather on Wednesday afternoon.

The Delta Flight 271 made the unscheduled stop at Boston Logan Airport at 4:35 p.m., and was slated to soon return to New York, according to a Delta spokeswoman.

The turbulence on the plane was so strong that some passengers had to be treated by airport paramedics for nausea and minor injuries.

Airports in the New York City area were having flight delays up to 90 minutes because of strong winds.
