State television awards announced

The State television awards for 2013 have been announced.

The award for the best telefilm has gone to Makeup directed and produced by Nithuna Nevil Dinesh while Vaazhthappetta Mariam Thresia: Kudumbangalude Madhyastha directed by Sibi Yogyaveedan on Shalom TV won the award for the best teleserial.

Both awards comprise a cash prize of Rs.25,000, a citation, and a plaque.

Salimkumar was adjudged the best actor for his role in the telefilm Parethante Paribhavangal on Jaihind TV while Sreekala bagged the best actor (female) award for her role in Makeup .

Nithuna Nevil Dinesh won the award for best director and best story ( Makeup ).

The awards instituted by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy were announced by Minister for Cinema Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan here on Tuesday.

Newsreader

Subitha Sukumar (Jeevan TV) is the best newsreader and Aneesh Ravi (Cucumber City on Media One), the best anchor.

‘Akam Puram’ produced by M.S. Sreekala for Mathrubhumi News was chosen the best current affairs show on TV. Sunil Baby and Sajith Ajmal were selected the best investigative journalists for the programme ‘Truth Inside’ (The death of a river) on Media One.

Comedy programme

‘Kuttipatturumal’ by Kairali TV won the award for the best TV show (Entertainment). ‘Thatteem Mutteem’ (Mazhavil Manorama) directed by R. Unnikrishnan is the best comedy programme and Niyaz Baker the best comedian for his role in ‘Marimaayam.’

Child artiste

Tanha Thabzum and Ajanya Narayanan who figured in Thoraamazha shared the award for the best child artiste.

Pollunna Jeevithangal , a film focussing on the plight of colliery workers and their families in Jharkhand telecast on Asianet News won the award for the best documentary on science and environment. Another Asianet programme titled Indian Cinemayude 100 Varshangal (P.K. Nair) bagged the best documentary award in the biography section.

‘Anthareeksha Prathibhaasangal’ directed by R.P. Chandran for ViCTERS channel was adjudged the best educational programme.
