Two naxals surrendered before Superintendent of Police A.K. Jha here on Tuesday.

Alem Bhaskar alias Ravi alias Sukhdev, who was Khammam District Special Guerrilla squad in-charge, and his wife Mote Shyamala alias Sunitha, who is district committee member of the Maoist party, gave up weapons. Bhaskar was involved in 14 criminal cases in Eturunagaram, Pasra, Tadvai and Mangapet police stations and in 2002 Ilapur exchange of fire. He was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head. Speaking to newsmen, Mr. Jha appealed to underground cadre of Maoist party to give up arms and join the mainstream.
