Daesh (ISIS) beheaded two opposition fighters overnight who were accused of fighting the extremists in a southern Damascus suburb, AFP reported Tuesday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the militants had kidnapped the men from Qadam, a neighborhood in Damascus, and executed them in the suburb of Hajar al-Aswad after accusing them of being traitors.
The killings are the third known incident the group had executed residents in or near the capital, according to AFP, though Daesh has little presence in Damascus and is mainly concentrated on the outskirts.
Qadam has been relatively stable in the country after Syrian government forces and opposition fighters in the district established a truce, AFP said.
