Irish actress Dominique McElligott's new US series Astronauts Wives Club gets premiere date
A broadcast date for Astronauts Wives Club featuring Irish actress Dominique McElligott has been announced.
The show, which was delayed due to casting changes, will air on ABC on June 18, Variety reports.
Dominique, best known in Ireland for her roles in RAW, Leap Year, and The Guard with Brendan Gleeson, will play Louise Shepard, the wife of the first American in space, Aland Shepard.
The Rathfarnham native's character will struggle to maintain her marriage once her husband becomes famous.
Astronauts Wives Club is based on the book by Lily Koppel and focuses on seven women who who were forced to deal with the aftermath of fame when their husbands profiles went stratospheric.
The women banded together to get through.
Starring alongside Dominique is JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Yvonne Strahovski, Odette Annable, Erin Cummings, Azure Parsons, and Zoe Boyle.
The men are played by Desmond Harrinton, Bret Harrison, Wilson Bethel, Kenneth Mitchell, Joel Johnstone, Sam Reid and Aaron McCusker.
Dominique (26) has previously featured in another US series, Hell on Wheels, with Irish actor Colm Meany although her character was killed off in 2012.
