When it comes to families scrutinized under the public eye as persistently as the Bachchans, secret getaways (think Rani Mukerji's Italy elopement) and low key celebrations seem like the trend.

Away from the paparazzi and fans, and in a private ceremony on the Seychelles islands, investment banker Naina Bachchan, daughter of Ajitabh Bachchan (Amitabh Bachchan's younger brother) tied the knot with actor Kunal Kapoor on February 9, 2015.

Having returned home, the happy couple continued the celebrations with family and friends with a private reception held in Delhi this weekend at Amaanta Farms in Kapashera, a lush 6,5000 sq ft garden. And as you'd expect, the two-day celebration (a dinner on April 10 at Dusit Devrana, followed by the wedding reception on April 11) was attended by a host of Bollywood stars, designers and politicians.

Joining Aishwarya, Abhishek, Jaya, Amitabh and Shweta Bachchan were Hrithik Roshan, Anupam and Kirron Kher, Rahul Bose, Rinki Khanna and Poonam Dhillon. From the fashion front, attendees included Dior's Kalyani Saha and designers Suneet Varma, Gaurav Gupta, Varun Bahl, Ritu Kumar, Anupama Dayala, Rina Dhaka and Ritu Beri. Shobha De, Queenie Singh and Niamat Bakshi were among severel others who made sure to stop by and congratulate the couple. Highlights of the evening included a musical performance by the Meet Brothers (which Abhishek Bachchan jumped into as well), Shweta Nanda hitting the dancefloor with daughter Navya Naveli, and the newlyweds taking a quick selfie on stage with Anupam Kher.

Putting together the event along with J & S Event Planners, designer Rohit Bal has validated every arguement for the opulent, big Indian wedding. Done in signature maroons, crimsons and baroque details, the reception's decor by Rohit Bal Luxury Weddings and Events was in tune with the statement classic vibe you'd expect from a Bollywood celebration—and a Bachchan one at that.
