A man was injured in an Indian Gaur attack at Valparai in the district on Monday.
According to sources, Velayutham (56) was walking along a private estate near the Sholayar Dam in Monombally Range when he came across the Indian Gaur. In the attack, suffered fractures in the shoulder and hand.
Velayutham was initially taken to the Government hospitals at Valparai and Pollachi after which he was referred to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
Forest department officials met him and inquired about the incident.
