JP hails Yechuri’s election

Left should focus on education and health, he says

Lok Satta Party founder president Jayaprakash Narayan has hoped that the Left parties will at least focus their attention on education, health and employment.

Congratulating Mr. Sitaram Yechuri on his election as the CPI(M) National General Secretary, Dr.Jayaprakash Narayan said globally wherever left parties had their impact, they ensured quality education and health to people but in India the situation was different. Even after over six decades of independence, India utterly failed in the education and health sectors and thus unable to tackle poverty. It was important for the future of India that Left parties should get involved in correcting this political failure, he said.
