Synthos teams up with Rosneft, Pirelli for potential Russian project

Chemicals group Synthos, teamed up with Russia's Rosneft and Italy-based Pirelli, will conduct a feasibility study concerning potential production and supplies of synthetic rubber in a petrochemical cluster in Russia's Nakhodka, Rosneft said in a statement.
The study will involve the development of the base project, market research as well as the assessment of investment and operational costs, according to the document.
The parties declared they will mull the use of the Nakhodka cluster for the production of Synthetic rubber, also for Pirelli's plants in the Asia and Pacific region. Also, the companies plan to run pilot research projects in the area of synthetic rubber.
