Stealth destroyer INS Vishakhapatnam launched
Workers celebrate as INS Vishakhapatnam (R) is launched at Mazgaon Dock Limited (MDL) on Monday. Minu Dhowan, wife of Admiral Robin Dhowan, launched the guided missile destroyer.
The stealth destroyer is 65 per cent indigenous and has a number of weapon systems made at home.
The 7,300-tonne destroyer is the first of four ships that India is making under Project 15-B, a follow-up of Kolkata class of warships.

The stealth features on Vishakhapatnam have been enhanced by shaping of hull and use of radar transparent deck fittings, which make these ships difficult to detect.
