They may get an easy entry into the industry, be given a second or maybe even a millionth chance to prove themselves but quite often there are few actors who just can’t establish themselves as stars. Worse, if their sibling is a part of the industry and is successful, the comparisons can be a big downer for them. Even if the two siblings enter the industry on an equal footing, often one races ahead in the rat race while the other struggles to keep up. Can one sibling help the other survive and thrive, or is one always left behind to ride on the coat tails of the other? We list down some of the actors who've not replicated their sibling's success. Take a look...

1

Ekta and Tusshar Kapoor
No one can beat Ekta Kapoor's power on television. You may hate or love her soap operas, but you just can’t ignore her saas-bahu sagas. Today, she has made her brand shine in films too. With her production house Balaji Telefilms producing films like The Dirty Picture, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and Main Tera Hero, she’s indeed a money spinner. However, Tusshar Kapoor is still struggling to make a name for himself. Initially, Ekta had produced films for Tusshar like Kucch Toh Hai, Koi Aap Sa, but the films bombed at the box office. But it was Ekta again who tapped into Tusshar’s comic timing when she produced her first sex-comedy, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum. The film went on to become a hit and today, they’re even shooting for its third installment. Tusshar also got a new lease of life with his mute act in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal series.

Aamir and Faisal Khan
While Aamir Khan is one of the biggest superstars today, his brother Faisal Khan is nowhere to be seen. The two starred together in Darmesh Darshan's Mela but the film flopped big time. Since then, Faisal Khan kept himself away from the media. In 2007, Faisal even filed a complaint against Aamir Khan accusing him of keeping him confined. However, it was later proved that he was mentally ill.

Sonakshi and Luv Sinha
Two of Shatrughan Sinha's children entered the industry one after another. His son, Luv Sinha starred alongside veterans Rishi Kapoor, Hema Malini and Rekha in his debut film, Raj Kanwar’s Sadiyaan in 2010. The film bombed at the box-office and Luv obviously lost out on his big break. His sister Sonakshi made her debut opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg in 2010 too. The film met with stupendous success and made her an overnight star. Sonakshi went on to star in number of hits and in a span of four years, she has worked with top actors like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan. However, Luv never got another chance, but there are talks that he might do an Ekta Kapoor film.

4

Shraddha and Siddhanth Kapoor
These Kapoor siblings had quite a tough time in Bollywood. While Shraddha’s journey has kickstarted in the industry, Siddharth’s journey is hitting several speed breakers. Shraddha, who had two back-to-back flops with Teen Patti and Luv Ka The End, tasted success only with Aashiqui 2. Shraddha is today one of the top actresses and she surely has a long run at the movies ahead of her.
Siddhanth Kapoor’s debut film Shootout At Wadala was a hit at the box-office. However, the actor didn’t make the most out of it. He was last seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Ugly and was appreciated for his performance, but he is yet to establish himself in the industry.

5

Kajol and Tanishaa
Kajol remains everyone’s favourite actress irrespective of how rarely she's seen on screen. She has made a unique place for herself in the industry over the years. We can very well say that kuch kuch hota hai even when we see her on screen today. While Yash Raj Films gave Kajol her iconic hit, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge, they couldn’t help her sister Tanishaa’s career. Tanishaa made her debut with the lesser known thriller, Ssshhhh. YRF cast her opposite Uday Chopra in their film, Neal N Nikki. The film was panned badly by critics and viewers alike and it was the first YRF film that was tagged cheap and vulgar. Tanishaa, however, got back into the limelight in 2013 when she participated in the reality TV show, Bigg Boss. It surely made her a household name, thanks to her fights and cosying up with Armaan Kohli. Tanishaa is now focusing on producing films.

6

Aditya and Uday Chopra
Aditya Chopra has taken forward the legacy of weaving love stories from his father, the late Yash Chopra. Today Adi Chopra is the head honcho at YRF and in the past few years, they have not just produced candyfloss romances but also promote films with a hatke factor.

Uday Chopra debuted in brother Adi Chopra’s multistarrer, Mohabbatein. The film did well, but Uday really didn’t fly high. He starred in several YRF releases time again but never tasted success, aside from his tapori character in the three-film franchise, Dhoom. Though we must say that we like his sense of humour on Twitter and frequent ‘conversations’ with Nargis Fakhri.

7

Mohit and Smilie Suri
We must say, the Bhatt family is super talented! Mohit Suri slowly but surely made it big in showbiz. He can even make a simple story extraordinary and what's more, they even cross the 100-crore mark at the box office. His next is all set to hit screens as he gets Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan back together for a romantic film.
His sister Smilie Suri made her debut in brother Mohit Suri’s Kalyug. The actress is rarely seen in films and last she starred in a television show.

8

Katrina and Isabel Kaif
As an NRI model, what Katrina Kaif has achieved, we don’t think any other foreign national can achieve. Her films are blockbusters and she is even called the female Salman Khan by trade pundits. Katrina Kaif has been in the industry for more than a decade and she has top filmmakers vying for her dates. And just like how Salman Khan helped Katrina in the industry, he also supported Katrina’s sister Isabel with her filmi dreams. Isabel Kaif starred in a Canadian film Dr. Cabbie, which was produced by Salman Khan. The film was a washout and we haven't seen Isabel doing any Hindi films. But with the Dabangg Khan backing her, nothing is impossible.

9

Shilpa and Shamita Shetty
Though Shilpa Shetty is a mother now, we can't stop crushing over her. Her career has seen several highs and lows in equal measure. She began her career with Shah Rukh Khan in Baazigar and then on she was tagged as one of the hottest leading ladies of B-town. In 2007, things changed for the actress and how! She won the British reality show, Big Brother and went on to win rah-rahs for her role in Anurag Basu's Life... In A Metro. Her younger sister Shamita Shetty was introduced in Aditya Chopra's Mohabbatein. Later, the actress was seen in small roles in various films. The sisters even starred together in Deepak Tijori's Fareb and shook a leg together for the song Baras Jaa Re Badal. Though the two are seen together often at public events, we're yet to see Shamita hit stardom like her older sister.
