Telangana gives back ENT hospital land

The open land has been converted into a parking space for luxury buses, private cars etc

Hyderabad: The 3,831 square yards of encroached land of ENT Hospital, Koti has now been given back through a government order on April 15.

But there is no movement on the ground as the land has been turned into a parking area for private luxury buses and cars over the last eight years.

In the order issued by the state government, the collector of Hyderabad and chief land commissioner have re-confirmed that the land originally belongs to ENT Hospital and was kept for establishing of a new out-patient block, diagnostic centre and staff quarters.

A senior doctor of the hospital said, “The cancellation of the former government orders 627, 628 and 629 is important and that has been done by the government. We now want them to take action immediately and take up the land.”

But the problem explained sources in the health department is that the earlier government orders were for regularisation of the encroached plots.

Presently, the open land has been converted into a parking space for luxury buses, private cars and also a lot of hawkers have been allowed to set shop.

A senior doctor said, as there is no major construction, so removing the encroachments should not be a problem.

“With the government releasing Rs 40 crore, we are optimistic that funds will be released for building new block,” he added.
