Jason Aldean says marriage to Brittany Kerr is 'great'

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 20 (UPI) -- Jason Aldean is happily wed to new wife Brittany Kerr.

The 38-year-old singer said as much to People magazine at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday. Aldean married the 27-year-old former American Idol contestant in March, and revealed he and Kerr have kept busy since the wedding.

"Yesterday was a month in," he shared. "It's been great, we've been on the road pretty much the whole time since we got married. We've gone all over the country and Europe for 10 days. She keeps me a little more focused and grounded, which is what I need in my life for sure."

Aldean and Kerr were first linked while the singer was still wed to Jessica Ussery, whom he filed for divorce from in April 2013. He and Ussery have two daughters, Kendyl and Keeley, and the country star recently revealed he and Kerr plan to have children of their own.

Aldean performed a medley of his songs "Tonight Looks Good on You," "My Kinda Party" and "She's Country" at the ceremony, and walked away with an award for Male Vocalist of the Year for the third year in a row. The singer last released Old Boots, New Dirt in October 2014.
