Leeds fans' chief Ray Fell says the club have not given the supporters enough information about the latest Elland Road controversy.

Six players were withdrawn through injury the day before Leeds’ trip to Charlton Athletic on Saturday as Mirco Antenucci, Giuseppe Bellusci, Dario Del Fabro, Marco Silvestri, Souleymane Doukara and Edgar Cani were all declared unavailable by the club’s medical staff.

Leeds put out a statement to that effect but Fell does not feel the supporters will accept the official explanation without more information.

“It’s another step on the road to bewilderment,” said Fell, the chairman of the Leeds Supporters Club. “It’s hard to believe that six players can develop injuries overnight.

“Perhaps a couple of them were genuine but the rest were hard to understand. If they’re injured, they’re injured but it makes you think there’s more to it.

“I don’t think the fans will be happy with the players. It depends what the statement the club puts out and so far they’ve not put enough out to enlighten the fans.

“It seemed like there was something behind what happened on Saturday and it needs some clarification. I don’t know how the fans would react without some kind of statement from the club.

“What they put out doesn’t really clear the air.”
