After failing to win their first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup 16th round at home, Zamalek coach Jesualdo Ferreira has blamed the Egyptian national team training camp for the 0-0 draw with Morocco's FUS Rabat on Sunday.

Ferreira revealed that he is unhappy with the game's result as well as the players' performance throughout the game.

"We suffered from poor performances during the game as the opponents played well and closed all scoring chances," Zamalek coach Ferreira told reporters after the game.

Zamalek was forced to do without injured players Ali Gabr and Ahmed Dwidar in the CAF Confederation Cup game.

"We suffered from the absence of key players' due to injuries as the defence line was unorganised," he added.

Zamalek players, alongside other Egyptian players, took part in the Egypt national team closed camp as part of preparations for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers , despite have no friendly game during the camp two weeks ago.

"We suffered from player fatigue that was caused by their participation in the poorly-planned camp and I expect we will pay its bill during the coming games."

Zamalek will play the second leg of the game against FUS Rabat in Morocco next May while the Whites' coach Ferreira is still confident of his team's ability to march on in the CAF Confederation Cup.

"I am confident of qualifying for the quarterfinals from Morocco," the Zamalek tactician concluded.
