Nayanthara to rescue Jiiva?

Tamil star Jiiva is going through one of the toughest phases of his career with hardly any hits to his credit in the last 2-3 years. Now, Jiiva has done what every actor does in times of distress. He has roped in top actress Nayanthara, who is having a sensational run in Kollywood, as the female lead for his next movie Thirunaal. The film will be directed by P S Ramnath.
Jiiva has not had a mega hit since Nanban(2011).His films like Mugamoodi, Neenthane En Ponvasantham, David, Endrendrum Punnagai and Yaan in the last few years haven't been hits and the actor is clearly struggling to to be among at the top five in Kollywood. “It was a conscious decision by Jiiva to rope in Nayanthara for the project. In fact, the producer rescheduled the project as he wanted Nayanthara to be part of the star cast.Now, everything has fallen in place as expected. She is more than happy to be part of this movie as it gives her adequate screen space,“ a person from the Thirunaal production unit said.
A rural mass entertainer, the movie will go on floors later this month with Nayan's — who debuted in Kannada films with Upendra's Super — schedule to start by May-end. Nayan will play the role of a girl next door in Thirunaal.At present, Nayan has five projects in her kitty, with three of them ready for release. She will be busy for the next two months shooting for Kashmora, a bigbudget movie with Karthi.She is expected to join the shooting sets of Thirunaal in between.
Her next big release is Masss(May 15), which is directed by Venkat Prabhu.“Jiiva has done the right thing by convincing his producer to rope in Nayanthara for Thirunaal.Nayanthara will undoubtedly add great value to the project. Jiiva should be happy that he has got to share the screen space with her at the peak of her popularity. This movie should do wonders for Jiiva,“ a trade source said.
